Sunday I got invited to Aroma Thyme Bistro in Ellenville for their 99 Bottles of Wine on the Wall. They also asked if they could pour Happy Bitch Rose so I was delighted attend and drop off a bottle or two of wine.

Aroma Thyme Bistro is located in Ellenville, NY.  For me it was a drive up and over the mountain, but it was a beautiful day to make this drive and enjoy the views. Aroma Thyme is the first certified green restaurant in the Hudson Valley.  They have wonderful food and great selection of beer, wine and liquor.

When we arrived they were setting the bar up with the wine.  Yes all the bottles were lined up on the bar and grouped in white or red and arranged according to geographic location. They had wines from NY, Greece, Portugal, Spain, South America, Italy and more

We sat down and grabbed a bite to eat and then began at the bar. Both Paul and I enjoyed a whole wheat thin crust pizza.  Mine was a blue cheese and Yukon potato pizza, Paul the Hummizza which was hummus with olives, roasted peppers, roasted tomatoes, red onions and roasted garlic.  I paired my pizza with a Illahe Viognier from Willamette Valley, Oregon and Paul a CA Chard.  The Viognier was wonderful and I am so looking forward to my trip the the Wine Bloggers Conference in Oregon to taste some more Oregon wines!

I didn’t taste all 99 wines, after all someone had to be responsible and drive home over the mountain and through the woods and across the river.  Here are the selections that stood out to me.

A taste of Greece with nice acidity

Ended with a nice LBV

See you next time I travel across the river, through the woods and over the mountain!
