Another wine from deep in our cellar.  Paul and I have belong to the Goosecross wine club for over a decade.  Yes I do have some wines in my cellar from them as far back as 1999.  For now, we dug up the 2004 Howell Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet.

This wine had some great color!  The first aroma I got when I put my nose to the glass was Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry Soda, which was one of my dads favorites.  Also aromas of plum and dark fruit fill the air with slight oak.

The first sip..wow!  Juicy plum filled your mouth leading way to black cherry and dark fruit.  This wine had a wonderful mouth feel, was well balanced with toasty notes.  It has held up quite well.  On the finish there was a mellow hint of spice.  I will say, as the wine opened the black cherry aromas became very strong.

I paired this wine with a nice Porterhouse steak.  Fantastic!
