On Saturday November 10 from 12-4pm Hudson Valley Wine Magazine presents Crown Maple Wine, Cider & Maple Fest.  This will be an informal afternoon where you will have the opportunity to pair wonderful culinary treats.

There will be six local wineries there offering wine, cider and spirits. Madava Farms chef Jacob Griffin will be creating courses to pair with seven local wines and spirits.

Tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door. (Under 21 tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door).  Ticket price includes six 2 ounce pours, one from each partner with six paired tasting courses, plus tastes of other featured wine, cider and spirits from Applewood Winery, Brotherhood Winery, Brookview Station Winery, Harvest Spirits, Hudson-Chatham Winery and Warwick Winery & Distillery.

Yours truly will be giving a seminar during the afternoon titled “Fermented Apple”.  I will be talking about the history of cider both in Europe and America as well as the Hudson Valley. The diversification of the apple crop, how the different alcoholic beverages are produced and some pairing suggestions.
