Did you know today is National Sauvignon Blanc Day?  It’s only fitting that today I introduce you to Dashwood. This is a 2011 Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand.

After harvesting the grapes the fruit is kept as cool as possible to retain the bright fresh flavor.  It is then gently crushed and cold fermented to preserve the personality of the grape.  The wine is kept in stainless steel tanks and bottled.

This nice straw color wine has aromas of grapefruit and tropical fruit.  As it enters your palate it is nicely balanced land not highly acidic.  Flavors of kiwi, passion fruit and gooseberries lead to a soft acidic finish of red grapefruit.

I served this with Scallops topped with lentils and beans and salad.

This wine retails for approximately $14.99 and is Certified NZ Sustainable
