Beginning 2013 I want to share with you my knowledge and continuing education on wine. (because nobody is an expert, wine knowledge is a work in progress) I will begin teaching 2 hour classes at The Villa Pasta and Grille on Route 55 in LaGrangeville.
These classes are for anyone. No snobbery allowed. I want to take the intimidation out of wine, so come Uncork Your Mind with me.
I will begin with a basic overview of wine, although that could be a entire year course, it will give you an idea of the different grapes grown in the different wine regions and what contributes to the taste of the wine.
Then once a month there will a series called “Review Wines like a Critic.” Every month will be a different theme. I will explain to you the AWS 20 point system and we will use that to evaluate the wines in addition to learning about the wine and wine region. I will incorporate your findings as well as mine into a blog post about that particular wine. You get to have a say too!
The classes will begin January 14, 2013 and will run the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Cost of each class is $45 and will include wine and a small plate pairing. Let’s explore the world of wine together!
