With a jammy nose and a distant hint of spearmint this Portalupi 2008 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is very well balanced. The grapes came from a three acre plot at Oddone Vineyard in Sonoma County.  This vineyard is planted with old clone Zin and mixed with 5% Petit Sirah.

The palate on this wine is jamming with black raspberry and cranberry.  Mid palate found hints of mint leading to clove and finishing off with a burst of white pepper.  This wine was aged in 33% new medium toasted American oak barrels.  There were 546 cases produced and it sells for $26 a bottle.
