I find myself opening up white wines on Sunday afternoon to watch football. A little wine a little cheese and possibility some screaming.
A 2012 Tiziano Pinot Grigio was the pick for one of these afternoons. This Pinot Grigio comes from the Delle Venezie region of Italy which is known for producing light and crisp Pinot Grigio.
The wine had a nice light straw color with aromas of honeysuckle, lilac and pear coming from the glass. The palate showed fresh ripe pears with a little lime towards the finish. I detected a bit of residual sugar in this wine that put it on the sweet side and over compensated for any acidity that one would find in a Pinot Grigio.
If you like your wine on the sweet side, this would be a wine for you. It would pair very well with a spicy dish and seafood. Would make a great hostess gift for the holidays.
The wine retails for about $9 a bottle.
